NBCUniversal Director's Initiative on Peacock's comedy series, Macgruber

I was recently selected as the inaugural participant for the NBCUniversal NM Director’s Initiative and shadowed directors Jorma Taccone, John Solomon and Will Forte on the Peacock series, Macgruber starring Kristen Wiig. Wolf in Development

Excited to be in development with my producer Laurence Dumortier on Wolf, a coming-of-age fantasy. The screenplay won the George RR Martin Screenwriting Award Grant and was performed as a play in Mr. Martin’s theater, the Jean Cocteau, starring Forrest Goodluck (The Revenant) and Dino Kelly (Peaky Blinders).

In need to affordable medical care, a 16-year-old New York City girl moves with her mom to the woods of Latvia. To free herself and her family from a painful legacy, Laila must learn an ancient magic to save an endangered wolf.

New Mexico Girls Make Movies (NMGMM) PA Training Workshop in ABQ!

So thrilled that NMGMM producer Barb Odell and I got to mentor these amazing young women at our first New Mexico Girls Make Movies Production Assistant Training Workshop, hosted by Su Hudson at the Public Academy of Performing Arts (PAPA). On Day 1, The NMGMM Mentees trained to be set ready and on Day 2, they put their skills to the test on the New Mexico Women in Film (NMWIF) PSA shoot for Enlace Comunitario, a not-for-profit that prevents domestic violence. What an incredible weekend!

New Mexico Film Foundation Workshop

Loved teaching my Directing for Screenwriters workshop for the New Mexico Film Foundation last Saturday.  The students had the opportunity to work with our four talented actors to stage their scenes and see them come to life!  Thanks Dirk Norris, Aaron Leventman, Danette Sills, Sicily Ranieri, and Liam O'Brien!

NMGMM at the SANTA FE FILM FESTIVAL

I am so excited about our upcoming New Mexico Girls Make Movies Event at the Santa Fe Film Festival!  We are presenting the premiere of our 2017 short film, Bottled Up, written and directed by our NMGMM grant winner Sara Casaus and crewed by our wonderful mentees and their professional female mentors.  The film will be followed by a panel discussion called Empowering Women in the New Mexico Film Industry.  Sara and our finalists, as well as our DP Diana De Aguinaga, our Production Designer Kendra Tuthill, and two of our judges, Trish Lopez and Laura Zak will be on hand for the conversation.  Join us at the CCA in Santa Fe on Saturday, February 10!  Visit www.santafefilmfestival.com for more details.  A big thanks to Aaron Leventman and NaNi Rivera for including us.
